چکیده

The present study represents the annual and seasonal concentration of PM10 over different sites (Darjeeling, Nainital, Mohal-Kullu) across Himalayan region India from July 2018 to December 2019. collected samples were analyzed for carbonaceous aerosols [organic carbon (OC), elemental (EC), water-soluble organic (WSOC), primary (POC), secondary (SOC)] major trace elements inspect their possible sources. average concentrations Mohal-Kullu, Darjeeling recorded as 57 ± 32 µg m-3, 65 41 m-3 54 17 respectively. high OC/EC ratio significant correlation OC with EC WSOC indicated a effect biomass burning sites. Principal component analysis/absolute principal score (PCA/APCS) resolved four sources: crustal/soil dust (26.6%), burning/fossil fuel combustion (28%), vehicular emissions industrial emissions/coal (17%). Identification source using potential contribution function (PSCF) weighted trajectories (CWT) showed that mainly transported northwestern part (Haryana, Punjab), northeastern Pakistan, Thar Desert, Indo-Gangetic Plain (IGP), which contributed dust-related India.

Transport pathways and potential sources of PM10 in Beijing

Beijing has suffered from major air pollution in recent years from PM10. In this study, we investigated the transport pathways and potential sources of PM10 concentration based on backward trajectories and PM10 concentration records from 2003 to 2009. Four transport pathways of high PM10 existed. One was the northwest pathway, which had the most frequency of occurrence in spring and winter, and...

Respiration at High Altitudes *

It has been clearly recognized that a low barometric pressure, when first encountered, may interfere with the normal workings of the human machine, but that later by compensatory responses the body may become adapted to the new conditions. The outstanding variable encountered in ascents to high altitudes by airplane, dirigible, free balloon, or mountaineering is the tenuousness of the atmospher...
